ABOUT THIS BOARD

The 7S Superfish 4 (SF4) is an amalgamation of the Superfish 3 shape and some old design features from the past. While still targeted at surfer’s looking for a high-volume modern fish shape, we believe this is our best Superfish yet, offering the perfect balance of stability and turning response.

Construction: Polyester (PU)

Polyester or PU construction uses traditional materials and laminating techniques to produce a strong, reliable surfboard with high quality finishes. All polyester boards are CNC milled from the shapers files and laminated by hand using quality components such as Hexcel fiberglass, Silmar resin and Bennett foam.
For years traditional polyester boards have been at the forefront of performance surfing. These boards feature a progressive flex pattern controlled by a high-grade timber stringer and feel very reliable under your feet. Polyester construction will perform in all surf conditions and can be adapted to suit a wide variety of surfboard models.

Review from a surf God!

Nathan Webster chats about the design features of 7S Superfish 4 – a high-volume surfboard designed to increase your paddle power. It is great for older and progressive surfers to take their surfing to the next level.

We’re now up to the fourth generation Superfish and I think this version could be the best one yet.

We’ve kept the design current and brought back some of the original features that made this model so popular. It’s still in essence a high volume, contemporary fish shape that will allow you to catch more waves and progress to the next level.

With the return of the step deck rail, this adds more volume and buoyancy throughout the body of the board while maintaining a lower rail. The extra buoyancy creates a great balance between paddle power and the lower rail will give you a more sensitive feeling when setting up a turn.

We’ve also increased the outline throughout the nose and eliminated the flyer last seen in the SF2. The design idea is to have a continuous curve in the back resulting in a smoother arc during cutbacks and face turns. Older and progressing surfers will really benefit from the forgiving nature of this model, and better surfers will unlock the board’s hidden potential and jam a nice turn in bigger waves when pushing hard off the back foot from knee-high to well overhead.

What I personally like about the Superfish 4 is the predictability and flow that it has. It’s a board that appeals to a wide demographic; it really won’t limit what you want to get from your surfing or how you want to perform.
